FanDuel has just agreed to a new live casino partnership deal with international gambling technology company Playtech. This deal will see FanDuel greatly expand their selection of live casino games in Ontario. The deal also has the potential to expand outside of Ontario if, and when, online casinos and sportsbooks are legalised in other Canadian provinces.

FanDuel expands live casino games library
FanDuel’s current live casino selection is one of the biggest live casinos in Ontario. The online casino site is one of the few with multiple software providers contributing to its live casino. It is also one of the few to have exclusive live casino games. The new partnership with Playtech sees the FanDuel live casino grow even bigger.
As a part of the new deal between Playtech and FanDuel, Playtech has built a new live casino studio server exclusive for the Ontario igaming market. According to Playtech, this new studio has been designed to “to meet the specific needs of the Canadian market and FanDuel’s audience.”
Furthermore, Playtech says their new FanDuel live casino games studio “will provide high-quality casino games for FanDuel customers in Ontario, Canada, offering Roulette, All Bets Blackjack, Baccarat and 7-Seater Blackjack.”
Dale Hooper, General Manager for FanDuel Canada, said of this new deal ““We are proud to be announcing this deal with Playtech, which will bring our users across Canada the highest quality Live Casino experience.”
Hooper also echoed Playtech’s sentiment about the company’s new studio. “The addition of the innovative FanDuel Live Casino studio has been specifically localised to cater for the Canadian market and FanDuel,” said the FanDuel General Manager.
Who is Playtech?
Playtech is one of the biggest casino gaming software companies in the world. The leading gambling technology company was founded all the way back in 1999, making it one of the oldest names in the industry as well.
The site is currently based in several countries, but their new Canadian live casino games studio is based in Riga, Latvia. In addition to having offices all around the world, Playtech casino games are also available at a wide variety of online casinos in North America, Europe, and elsewhere.
The company’s current goal is to expand into North American markets. At time of writing, Playtech’s biggest investment has been in the United States, specifically New Jersey. Playtech has built dedicated studios for the American market for its marquee game show Adventures Beyond Wonderland and its Big Bad Wolf video slot game.
FanDuel and Playtech eying other provinces
As groundbreaking as it is for FanDuel and Playtech to agree to a new live casino partnership in Ontario, both companies are already looking far into the future. Both FanDuel and Playtech have emphasised their desire to grow beyond Ontario in Canada. Playtech explicitly said this in its announcement of this new partnership.
“The agreement extends the provision of the Live Casino studio to other provinces across Canada, if and when they regulate [online casinos],” said the statement. George Voyatzis, VP Commercial for Playtech, set his aim even beyond Canada, saying “this announcement is yet another example of Live taking over the gambling industry on a global scale.”
If FanDuel and Playtech are to be believed, this new deal could be just the beginning of FanDuel’s live casino in Canada.
